Renee Veenstra CALC

Renee brings a unique combination of lived experience and professional training and certification to her coaching.

After having four children with ADHD, Renee gained a keen awareness of where her children struggled, and she looked constantly for ways to advocate for them and to give them better opportunities. Her children were diagnosed at different ages, in different contexts, with a variety of co-occuring conditions (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Tourette Syndrome, OCD, and Social Anxiety Disorder). Renee found she had to juggle learning about ADHD, adjusting how she raised her children, and teaching her children about their ADHD. Now, with her children settled into their own lives, Renee realized she didn’t want to stop helping. (Read more Tales from an ADHD family on her blog).

Equipped with decades of experience working with and for people with ADHD, Renee pursued professional training and certification to become an ADHD coach.  As a result of the experiences she has lived through personally, with her family,  she has seen some of the challenges and real life struggles that sometimes come with ADHD; and she has the wisdom and compassion to assist clients in finding ways to overcome their own barriers.  And, she has shared in the joy of goals met and potential reached.

With degrees in flute performance, Renee is also an accomplished musician.  She plays flute and piccolo professionally in a regional orchestra and has taught private flute lessons for many years.  She lives in Iowa with her husband, their dog, and two cats.  She is active in her community, serving on several boards and committees.  In her free time, she loves most having deep conversations with family and friends.  A life long learner, she also loves to read.
